The focus of the Academic Leadership for Course Coordinators Program (ALCCP) is to enhance the academic leadership knowledge and skills of course coordinators at Curtin. The Program is intended to assist busy academic staff who coordinate courses to enable them to develop knowledge and skills in academic leadership, to create a vision of what a course might be, and to foster a culture that supports and delivers excellent courses. The Program provides course coordinators with theoretical and practical ideas and resources relating to academic leadership.

ALCCP was developed from a project funded by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC). The aim of the project was to research, develop and trial an experiential leadership development program specifically tailored to the Course Coordinator role. The ALCCP has been piloted twice in the scope of the project and an extensive range of revised program resources are now available to the tertiary sector through the Learning Leaders dissemination site. It is hoped that the Program will fill an existing gap and be taken up by other universities as an effective support mechanism for developing and supporting academic leadership for Course Coordinators.

Due to the Program's focus on the Course Coordinator role, ALCCP is only open to Curtin Course Coordinators. The materials and examples are specifically focused on the coordination role.

The Organisational Development Unit at Curtin provides leadership development opportunities for staff in other roles. Please visit the ODU website for more information at
